Madonna’s vision was to create an optometry practice that provided a personalised environment for the provision of superior service and eyewear. It is this vision which has seen the practice thrive.

Madonna Rigney
Founding Optometrist
Madonna Rigney is the founder of Madonna Rigney Optometry. After growing up on Brisbane’s Northside, Madonna completed her Bachelor in Applied Science (Optometry) at QUT in 1992 and her Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2017. After working for eyewear chainstores for a number of years, Madonna saw the need for a more premium and specialised optometry and eyewear offering. Consequently Madonna Rigney Optometry opened in 2001 and hasn’t looked back since!

David Chatman
Optometrist
David Chatman is an Optometrist at Madonna Rigney Optometry and has been with the team since 2011. David studied at QUT’s Kelvin Grove campus and gained his Bachelor of Applied Sciences (Optometry) in 2008 and his Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2017.

Lauren Cocks
Lauren graduated with Honors from QUT in 2010 and completed her Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics in 2012 and furthered her experience in working as an aligned paediatric optometrist with the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Lauren’s passion for quality eye care and health experience has her studying for a certificate in Optometry and Public Health.
Lauren has special interests in paediatric eye care, though enjoys seeing children of all ages.
Outside of her work, Lauren sings in choir, loves to go for walks and spend time with family and friends.

Rebecca Rawlings
Optical Dispenser
Rebecca worked in the Optics Industry since 1999. Rebecca is a cool , calm, can do operator who prides herself in fitting fabulous, comfortable eyewear that gives the wearer the “look “they are after.

James Herron

Originally from Cornwall, England, James began his career in optics as an apprentice in 2019 and has his Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing, bringing both technical expertise and hands-on experience to the field.
In 2022, James followed his dreams and relocated to Australia, where he continues to grow his career in the optical industry. Known for his precision and attention to detail, James particularly enjoys the problem-solving aspect of dispensing. Whether it’s finding the right lenses for a complex prescription, fine-tuning a tricky frame adjustment, or finding the perfect frame to suit the individual face. James thrives on getting things just right.

Our dynamic business/journalist student who thrives in the fashion and frame selection of the practice. Evelyn brings a cheerful energy every time she comes to work. Outside of work, staying healthy and full time study she enjoys time with friends and family.
